Things we can do and things we can’t

Kids don’t see limits, kids see the universe as never-ending infinity.

Adults, the “mature” ones, believe universe has a “size”. Although we are still unable to measure it accurately. Adults see limits.

As kids, we used to believe we could do anything when we grow up. Anything, everything.
As adults, we realize there are things we can do; and there are things we can’t.

We tend to see such difference as conflict, no it isn’t. It’s a process, the views complement each other.

Kids explore possibilities, divergent thinking; adults make choices, and focus to make chosen possibilities happen, convergent thinking.

There are things we can do; and there are things we can’t.

No it has nothing to do with talent or capability. With enough focus and dedication, and a little luck, we can achieve whatever we desire.

The thing is, sooner or later, we all reach a stage where we realize it’s pure stupidity to spend our life/time/energy on things that are widely regarded as achievement, yet goes against our personality and beliefs.

And these, are the things we can’t do.

And these things we can’t do, actually help push us towards the things we can, and really want to do.

What are the things you can’t do? What are the things you can and must do?
