Apr 20th, 2018 – Annie Duke and the appraisal

A good general-purpose advice does not show you the path towards greatness.

Survival bias in the successful people’s principles.

Countless people of lesser capability and qualification achieved the formidable goals of your dream. Go for them full-throttle, “you’re better than that”.

Ask: “what/who is the second best?”

The quality of the outcome does not necessarily reflect the quality of the decision.

If you’re lucky all the time, you miss the opportunity to grow and learn.

Execute in the face of uncertainty every little task that leads to your preferred outcome.

Be aware of your ego.

Your beliefs are an evolving process, not validation of your worth. There’s no right or wrong, but continuous evolution towards truth and accuracy .

The forest survives the city, so can you.

Ensure that your voices heard, your contribution appreciated.
