It seems so common: companies keep treating their customers in the wrong/unethical way because that is profitable (banks and credit card companies who encourage us to spend beyond our means are just one of numerous examples), and because the customers keep coming back despite the pain.
The way to change this, to make businesses act in the customers’ best interest is not just to protest/punish wrongdoings with laws or activism, but also to establish and support more businesses that treat customers in the right/ethical way.
In short, start “good” companies to save customers from “evil” companies. Drive those evil companies out of the market by treating the customers right.
