April 15th, 2013 – Marines & the Purpose of Your Life

Things get easier when you start doing (not planning or thinking about) them.

What’s missed is missed, what’s gone is gone, focus on the challenge at hand.

Music is good for your mind, and physical health too.

Strive to be the elite special force in your chosen field. And the most important trait of a special force operator is this: he watches out for his brothers.

Always keep the purpose of your life in mind. Always keep the people you are serving/people you want to serve in your mind.

Lessons from the Marines documentary: It’s not a job, it’s an identity, it’s a state of mind. They take care of each other, leaving no one behind.

Bias towards action. Creative thinking. Aggressiveness.

If you quit once you will quit again. Do you have the complete dedication?

Making decisions in an area you are totally unfamiliar with. Thinking clearly under stress and not panic.

All the Spartan training… it’s not about physical strength or technique, it really is about the strength of your mind.

Take the adversity in life in strides. Never complain, never regret, never get upset. Look forward and keep working for the purpose/mission of your life.

True happiness comes from doing what you deeply love and believe in, not what people expect you to do.
