Review Time

June 1st. We are 30 days from the exact midpoint of the year.

So how are the goals? Those you listed down on a paper on Jan 1st… How many of them accomplished? How many in progress? How many forgotten?

It’s time for mid-year review… in fact, time to prioritize and cut loss.

First, prioritize. If you are to fail all but one of the goals in the list…which would be your single most important goal? If there is only one goal you can achieve this year, what would it be?

Stop saying sth like “No they’re all important to me…”, we knew that, but which one is the Most Important?

Make a decision, make your choice. Pick the most important goal, budget time & resources for it, schedule the hours to work on it plus a review at the end of each coming month, then go work.

When you are on track with your top priority (the single most important) goal, repeat the process for your 2nd top priority, and then the 3rd. And that’s all. Limit your priorities to 3, more than that and you have no priority.

Making this decision can be tough, but necessary. It was toughest on Jan 1st, easier now, and even easier when Dec comes…because when time passes we are left with less and less choice…

Make it earlier, get more done.

Second, cut loss. Really it’s the same thing as prioritization, just another side of it.

Those goals that you never cared to even start working on in the first five months…what makes you think they will get your attention in the next seven? Get rid of them, they are distractions to your focused pursuit of the 3 tops…

Take the pain now, make the decision, it’s still your choice.

Don’t wait until Dec, by then you have no choice but to accept whatever life throws at you.

Dream on, good luck.
