Don’t over-hedge. Do thorough homework until you are able to make a sound judgment, one that you will confidently stick with and defend fiercely.
A hedged position is not always a safer one. Once the price of hedging becomes excessive, a hedged position can turn into a riskier, not safer, one.
We do live in a world where bragging and being overestimated give you advantages. However there are situations where being underestimated is actually more advantageous. When being in such situation, resist the temptation to “sell” yourself, forget your ego, and focus on your desired outcome (goal).
Train yourself to be motivated by things that tend to discourage most other people.
Visualize. The clearer you see the future, the more strongly you believe in it.
